At the beginning of 2009, one of the most important textile companies in Brazil got in contact with Quimisa seeking for a solution to problems with dust being built on bio-polished Terry fabric. Upon that, the already in place bio-polishing processes were analyzed and nothing wrong was found, except that the finishing process was using too much silicon.
A conclusion was made, then, that such dust-building problem was because of the excess of silicon since it allows the yarn fibers to slip and undo them, thus allowing for the dust accumulation. The process was changed accordingly, solving the company’s problem, which also caused Quimisa to start manufacturing one type of softener.
